VISION:
Building strong God-Centred Families; impacting generations to come and bringing glory to God.
MISSION STATEMENT:
To nurture and train children in all aspects, in the love of God, through reaching the mind, soul and heart (Lk1027).
PREAMBLE: Family Foundation and Hope for Uganda ministry is responding to the needs of vulnerable orphaned children in a simple and practical way. We have been supporting ten children in the Soroti District with scholastic materials for the last four years. These children include, two formerly abducted girls belonging to one family, their father was killed and the mother is HIV Positive. The other three children are siblings, who have lost both parents to HIV/AIDS and are now living with their step mother who is also sick with HIV/AIDS. The other children are also total orphans.
We put a side about 12% of our salaries every month towards the needs of these children, but the need is far beyond these children. When we began helping these children there were six of us helping to support their needs. There are now only 2 of us who are able to continue setting aside 12% of our salaries and time, as the others have moved on to other ministries or begun their own families.
We have stepped up in our faith with a desire to see more children like those above, helped to discover their loving and kind father God.
We have been involved in the lives of these children for about 4 years, they have grown up knowing that they have a Heavenly Father and uncles who love them but we would like to take this ministry further by getting a piece of land to begin a children’s center. This land has already been allocated to FFHU for use by Kapir Sub-County, Kumi District, leadership but we have to pay for it. This land neighbours Soroti District where our focus has been.
Each family unit in the Children’s center will have a five roomed self contained house, allowing each family to completely function has an independent family. These houses are estimated to cost about $18,000 each.
We are looking forward to starting with one house to take care of the ten children that we have been involved with for the last four years. These ten children are in a community where every one is struggling and desperate, and it is unpractical for some one to add on more children if his own are malnourished and without clothes.
They desperately need someone to care for them.
